About me

pamelanew

It is quite common for people to feel worried and have reservations about opening up to someone. With the right help and support, we can build a trusting, supportive and professional relationship where you can discuss and explore whatever is right for you.

I work with adults, helping them work through any issues they have, this could include anxiety, depression, stress or any other difficulties, working together to work through concerns. I offer an integrative approach. I tailor the type of therapy that suits you best. This is primarily Person-Centred, but we may draw from aspects of CBT therapy, for example, depending on your requirements. This is due to being aware that, whilst one approach works for one type of person, it doesn’t necessarily work for someone else. Each persons needs are different, not everyone is the same and I understand that.

I place a significant emphasis on helping you gain a deeper understanding of the connections between your thoughts, actions, and emotions, providing you with the necessary tools to manage your mental health concerns effectively over time.

For your therapy to work there needs to be time to build trust and a solid foundation together. This is essential for the therapy to be effective. You are the expert on yourself. I believe that you have the freedom and independence to regulate yourself in order to reach your own full potential.

YOU have the power to change your thoughts and actions. Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to learn and practice new skills for managing difficult feelings and situations in regards to your emotional state and thought process.

Experience

I have worked with people from all backgrounds, providing an inclusive, non discriminatory, safe space to enable people to feel ready and supported to  discuss and explore any issues they are facing.

I have worked with charities, college, and High schools. I have a particular interest in working with people with Autism and ADHD. I have supported people with anxiety, depression, anger, loss and a variety of difficulties.
